📜 Refit Registry terms & disclaimers
These terms add to the site’s general terms and our Privacy Policy. By creating a registry or using one, you agree to them.
What Sailboats USA does — and doesn’t do
- We only host the list. We never collect, hold, transfer, or refund money, and we never handle, ship, or store goods.
- Items are bought from third-party stores under those stores’ terms (prices, availability, shipping, returns, warranties). Store links go to outside websites we don’t control.
- Affiliate links: as an Amazon Associate, Sailboats USA earns from qualifying purchases. We add our Amazon Associates tag to amazon.com links on registries (unless the link already carries the owner’s own tag). It doesn’t change the price you pay, and it helps keep the Refit Registry free.
- “I bought this,” pledges, “received,” and progress bars are honor-system records entered by members. We don’t verify purchases, payments, deliveries, or how gifts are used.
- Gifts are personal gifts. They aren’t charitable or tax-deductible donations, and a registry isn’t a fundraiser, investment, or sponsorship arranged by Sailboats USA.
If you create a registry
- List items genuinely for your own boat’s refit, described honestly, and use gifts as described. No resale schemes, misleading stories, or items unrelated to the boat.
- You’re responsible for any taxes and for following the rules that apply to gifts you receive — including, for creators, your platform’s policies and any disclosure rules for fan gifts.
- Don’t post a street address you don’t want seen. A listed ship-to address is visible to any signed-in member; we recommend a marina, boatyard, or PO box, or a store wish list that ships privately.
- The ✓ Verified Creator badge only means we confirmed the registry is connected to the linked channel. It isn’t an endorsement. Using someone else’s name or channel is prohibited and will get the registry removed and the account banned.
If you give
- Give only to people you know or trust. Consider buying items outright rather than sending cash to people you don’t know.
- Money for group gifts and tip links is sent directly to the owner through the service you choose; disputes and refunds are between you, the owner, and that service.
Moderation
- Use ⚑ Report this registry on any registry that looks fraudulent or abusive. Sailboats USA may hide or remove any registry, item, or record, and may suspend accounts, at our discretion.
- Sailboats USA provides the Refit Registry “as is” and isn’t liable for any gift, purchase, payment, delivery, or use of gifted items. Questions: contact@sailboatsusa.com.
